Duckie Brown isn’t the only one expanding his menswear collection to include womens wear. Public School designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne revealed to New York Times that it’s in the works for them as well.
“It’s not just street or high fashion, but a combination of the two. It’s either elevated or brought down to earth. It’s sort of like the guy not waving a flag to stand out with his outfit. She’s sophisticated.”
The design duo revealed months ago that womenswear would be the next step for Public School. The industry has given the duo admiration and support for their sport-wear meets formal-wear aesthetic which is clear with them winning the CFDA Swarovski Award for Menswear and the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund last year also they were part of the CFDA Incubator program in 2010. The future is bright for Maxwell and Chow and even though the odds are in their favor the duo reveals that perfection is the goal.
“If it’s perfect, we’re going to show it,” Osborne told the Times. “But if 1 percent isn’t to our satisfaction, we have no problem holding it back.”
FashionEaters around the world are on pins and needles hoping for the reveal during this seasons NYFW but if not… perfection is always worth the wait.
