Long Tall Sally Ottoman Rib Sweat Top : H&M earrings
During my break from blogging I decided it was a time to change a few things in my personal life. I’m back in school (this time as a business major), currently looking for a new job, finally joined a gym (thanks to a gift membership from bae) and changed up my personal style. Life came at me like a tidal wave, so I needed some time to figure out how to swim the tough waters, so blogging took a hit (almost to the point of no return). In this time I have done away with toxic relationships, got time for self reflection and built the best GOTDAMN vision board dripping with purpose. Shit, It feels good to bang on the reset button on my 30 year.
I got rid of a ton of items due to my style rebuild and though I love these pieces they no longer fit my new vibe. (Make sure you are following my Depop page to get your hands on them first.) In an effort to restock my closet with classic pieces, I came across this beautiful blush pullover from Long Tall Sally. I’ve recently been attracted to boxy fits, and comfort wear lately and this little baby pulled on my heart strings the instant I saw her. I remembered I had a proflio shoot with Shaka later that week, and wanted to create two simple looks with the sweater.
The first look I paired the pull over with over sized “mom jeans” thrifted from my local Savers with my new favorite hat from local tattoo artist and designer Ink INC. I added my burgundy H&M jewelry and metallic Calvin Klein Celia loafers I from Nordstrom Rack I got a year ago. I wanted a look I could run to Trade Joes in or when Im in a rush to class. The fit of the sweater is perfect for layering in the cold months, but light enough to be a stand alone pull over when Spring sneaks up on us.
(Just in case you want a pair of loafers of your own and can’t track down this particular pair HERE is a link to a bunch that range to a size 11 *SMILE*)
The second look was a minimal approach. I rocked the same shoes, and earrings, but I let my curls do the work and switched to a pair of stretch black ankle length Uniqlo denim. I could run around doing errands all day in this look and still be together enough to grab drinks with the girls or flip it for a “Causal Friday” look for work.
So, here we are at the end of my first post of 2017, my first post as a 30 year old woman and the first post after a much needed break. It feels good to have a fresh start and give something I was ready to end another try. I want to make TallGlassofStyle a home of all things creative, stylish but most of all a platform for culture and I am so excited to bring my ideas to life. If anything, I hope this post makes you revisit that project you gave up on, or just gives you the push you need to keep going when the beautiful things around you start to get ugly.
See ya next post love.
