I received my first Influester VoxBox and I couldn’t be more pleased with my goodies. I’ve been on a mission to expand my familiarity to beauty products, and it has slowly become a staple for me in my self care regimen. Getting samples, trying out new mask and finding out what products work best for me have become a ritual. (Also my friends Yellie & Ki are tired of me being completely clueless when it comes to beauty related things but thats a story for another time LOL). So… Let’s do this shall we 😉
When I saw the jar I instantly thought of the mornings my grandmother would slather my face down with a globe of this. It was a protective shield forced upon me and like any other little black girl of the time I vowed to never deal with Vaseline again LMBO. But here it was staring back at me, and even with my triggers firing off I decided it was time to revisit the product I had deemed the “Blue Toped Demon”. I searched the internet for what I could use Vasline for (besides slathering my face in it), put some of the tips to use and I AM IMPRESSED. Here are all my tested uses that worked out really well for me:
- Apply to your feet at night before putting on fuzzy socks for soft feet.
- Remove eye make up (It worked wonders for taking off my cat eye)
- Lip Balm (out all of my balms this actually worked the best… I AM SHOOK)
- I added a little fragrance oil to a dab of it and rubbed it on my wrist and lightly behind my ears and it LASTED ALL DAY!
- Used it around may cuticles before I did my manicure and it helped keep the color off of my skin
Honestly I don’t use liners so I don’t have a first hand experience to share with you guys , but I do know plenty of women that stand by carefree and also wanted to include some reviews in this post so you can make the call for yourself. Here & Here . If you use Carefree liners feel free to let me & fellow readers of TGOS know what your experience is and add links if you have your own review in the comments below.
Shea Moisture Argan Oil & Almond Milk
Shampoo Here | Blow Out Creme Here
Baby, let me tell you I live for the Shea Moisture brand and it has held a steady place in my top five favorite hair brands. I was excited to see that my Voxbox included their Shea Moisture Argan Oil & Almond Milk line right on time for my wash day. I used their Smooth & Tame Shampoo and I was surprised with how much slip it. Followed by a deep conditioner and finished with a blow out using Argan Oil & Almond Milk Smooth & Tame Blow Out Cream with heat protectant which worked well for me. (Full Discloser: I am very nervous about dealing with heat damage so I added extra heat protectant after). I loved the smell and feel of the Argan Oil & Almond Milk line and can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the products.
Madam C.J. Walker Brassica Seed Oil
WOW…. I mean …. honestly, I put this in my hair and I smelled like a vanilla pound cake straight out of the oven. After washing & blowing drying my hair with the Shea Moisture Oil & Almond Milk line I applied this before putting my hair in braids. My hair loved this oil, and the smell wore extremely well through out the day. I have also been using the oil as a refresher before I braid my hair at night and I’ve yet to suffer from build up or smelly hair. This is my first experience with the Madam C.J. Walker line and I literally am ready for them to take all of my money LOL. GET YOU SOME!
Sinful Color Spoonful of Sugar
I have had hundreds of Sinful Color nail colors in the past and I love the wide selection they always provide for such a good price. The Kandee Johnson collection for Sinful Colors taps into my glitter obsession with the “Spoon Full Of Sugar” color (#2260). I have been getting compliments on my them since I did my at home mani/pedi a few days ago. The only con to this particular collection is I haven’t been able to track the FULL collection for purchase in store or online so if you have found it or can point me in the right direction please drop a link in the comments or fell free to tweet me HERE.
(I have received these products complimentary, but all opinions are my own & this post contains affiliate links)
